Jerusalem first LRT line

The project entailed planning a 14 km LRT route along Jerusalem’s main streets, constituting an important element of the city’s mass transit system.

This project is the first of its kind in Israel. 

​

MATAN was responsible for carrying out various phases of the planning for the concessioner including dealing with impact on traffic and setting up the necessary geometry for the LRT operation.

 

Each phase necessitated overall geometric design and traffic signal planning while taking into account the concessioner's work methods and the impact on privat and public trasport systems.

 

Today, upon completion of the project, as the trams play the route through the city, we are proud to have been part of this project's design team.
